Staying ahead of the curve

Today’s market is advertising focused and is open to anyone and everyone, raising the competition for investors and market shares. Successful entrepreneurs approach business as if it were chess, developing the ability to see at least one move ahead. Looking to the future and planning is critical for business growth, and there are many reasons to go about it.

In a recent conversation with the well-experienced and established entrepreneur, Anoop Singh Bishnoi, we asked him for some advice and tips to stay ahead of the curve, here’s what he shared, “Firstly, in order to gain perspective, one needs to distance oneself from their business…pull oneself back so one can work on the business rather than in it. It’s a fact that the best ideas come most unexpectedly, and that is why it’s important to have some leisure time, and just let the creativity flow…it surely helps one to think bigger. I always suggest people to stay prepared for the worst, why? Because it’s never too late to have a backup plan. One should consider what external forces are affecting their business and where they are coming from, just to be prepared, if ‘in case’ something happens. Now a tip that I swear by is to act before I’m ready; this is not to say that one should fly by the seat of one’s pants, but yes, life doesn’t come with a map, so one must make decisions based on the facts. Last but not the least, one shouldn't expect social approval or comfort, in fact, be prepared for the opposite. When one is defying conventional wisdom and operating ahead of the curve, one is out of sync with what most people do or believe to be normal…and it’s okay do to things differently, it fosters creativity and increases confidence.”

Just because one’s company is doing well now doesn’t mean it can’t get better. It’s easy to pass up great opportunities because one is unprepared to seize them. Know one’s business inside and out, respect one’s time, and be willing to take a risk on a big opportunity. Growth does not have to be difficult; one simply needs to set the stage first.
