Anoop Singh Bishnoi on Reawakening his Passion

A lot can change with one simple realization. Just look around yourself, it’s the same city, the same people like you, but the living conditions are not the same or equal...right? People still don’t have access to the basic living need that we all take for granted and that surely instills within us gratitude...but what about those who’re still suffering? The only way to make a positive change/impact is by endeavoring to assist and taking an initiative on a sustained basis.

Anoop Singh Bishnoi, a promoter of the alcohol and steel industries, originally belongs to the State of diligent and progressive farmers i.e. Punjab. He studied in different education centers around the country like Dehradun, Delhi and Ahmedabad and traveled around the world, but it was when he returned to his roots that he found his true strength, inspiration and passion--the wish and willingness to make a difference. He has frequently worked with several foundations and NGOs which are constantly striving for the upliftment of the underprivileged. But as they say, it’s not just the initiative but also the intention that really matters, and therefore some tasks deserve extra credit.

From 2018 to 2020, YPO-Gold (a non-profit organization that aims to foster business, exemplary leadership through networking), undertook two remarkable projects under the guidance of Anoop, as he was first a Learning Officer (2018-19) and then the Chairman (2019-20) of this community's Delhi Chapter. The projects were planned to help out the children of the red light areas in Delhi and to empower and encourage women to become the drivers of their lives, quite literally too.

From operations to sales, YPO supported Ekjut, an initiative by Jamghat to provide livelihood opportunities to helpless women of Jama Masjid area. The members also visited SPID (A center that provides 24 hours shelter, protection, education, and nutrition to children who are raised in brothels.) and facilitated them for creating Kishori Homes for girls in the age group of 10-18 years.

These projects are still flourishing and so is Anoop’s passion, which has fueled his energies further. Inner motivation continuously prompts him to  take up socio-educational projects in right earnest. The educational limitations and the unmet necessities of students in the schools of rural villages in Dist. Fazilka, Punjab (his ancestral place), has galvanized him initiate changes. From providing scholarships to distributing funds, his foundations are doing everything they can to facilitate ambitious and hardworking students achieve their dreams. In addition the family foundation is in the middle of setting up another school, a skill development center, as well as colleges in the district.

Someone said it right that, “ allow your passion to become your purpose and it will one day become your profession”. Have you found your passion yet?
