Exploring Digital Entrepreneurship

Is one making the most of the advantages that social media has to offer? Whether one is just starting out or have been in the business for ten years, it is critical to have a social media presence. Technology is widely used and is an integral part of daily life. Large corporations rely entirely on technology and social media marketing. As a result of these developments, social media can make or break a company's success, and the same is true for entrepreneurs.

As more and more people join social media sites and use them on a regular/efficient basis, the social media industry is only going to grow bigger in the coming years and that’s why there’s no better time than now to start thinking about social media strategies, regardless of the size or scope of your business. Recently, we had a word with the well-experienced and established entrepreneur and business mentor – Anoop Singh Bishnoi, and asked him what he thinks about the same, as well as, how he has been keeping up with this source of networking…here’s what he said, “There is no way to ignore the power of social media and the increasingly significant impact it has on a business's success or failure in today's digital age. It can be difficult to make sense of all the available platforms, especially if they have overlapping functions, that’s why I prefer to choose a social network and stick to it; for me, it’s LinkedIn and Twitter majorly. These choices are subjective, like if one is in a business of trends, then Instagram and Facebook are the best platforms to be active on. Regardless of the social platform one chooses, to make sure that one’s social media efforts bear fruit, one must be accessible and mobile so that one does not miss out on opportunities. Social media platforms are similar to real life in that they both involve two parties interacting with one another, whether through comments or re-tweets. One should never forget that social media users are people, not numbers and therefore be mindful of their actions as well as take the time to check up on their queries, remarks, and feedback. Honestly speaking, being an entrepreneur isn’t easy. One would want to seek advice and support from other entrepreneurs who are on the same path, and social media is an excellent platform for making these connections. Keep in mind, that every interaction that takes place on social media will have a long-term impact on one’s business and personal identity as well. Finally, just as you would for any other important task, set aside specific times in your calendar for social media, it really helps.”

For businesses, social media has enabled them to communicate with the right people at the right time. If your content piques their interest, it has the potential to drive sales, and even long-term loyalty. These strategies will not take up hours of your time, but they will definitely aid in the building of a strong online presence, for you as well as your company.
