We recently had a discussion with Anoop Bishnoi, the well-known entrepreneur, and business mentor. And we asked him about some tips to stay ahead of the competition and here’s what he told us, “…to stand out from your competition you should have consistent branding as well as a unique voice, it helps to establish exactly who you are and what you do. In addition, product packaging also plays a great role nowadays, for example people now look for unboxing videos before purchasing your product and if your packaging is attractive, they’ll remember your brand. The next important thing you should do to create loyalty is by becoming the absolute best at customer service and after sales. After all, happy customers do not just stay but also spread your name and increase your brand's awareness. And always remember that your brand will only sustain if you continuously reassess your position and keep finding ways to become even better, as it’s very important to keep growing. Those were all the things you should do, but there’s also something that you should never do and that is to never let your competition influence you and your decisions to a great extent. Of Course it’s vital and healthy to compare at times, stay relevant, and adapt, which also helps in faster growth… but do not get obsessive about it, keep your efforts focused on you, not your competitors.”

Having a competitive advantage is important, but what’s more important is that the advantage should be sustainable over time. And the idea should be to build a brand that customers seek to identify with, that is what makes a brand stronger and long lasting.
